Co-operation and Projects
Danish Cultural Institute in Saint Petersburg cooperates each year with dozens of Russian cultural institutions, organizations, libraries, museums, cinemas, schools, and universities, as well as cultural institutes from other countries located in Russia. Among them are partners such as
- the Russian Museum,
- the St. Petersburg State Philharmonic,
- the Alvar Aalto Library in Vyborg,
- the Mariinsky Theatre,
- the Anichkov Palace,
- the EUNIC project,
- several universities in St. Petersburg,
- important festivals such as Barents Bird Festival in Murmansk,
- PetroJazz Festival,
- and Imperial Gardens Festival.
Our most important projects carried out in recent years include: A series of concerts celebrating the 150th anniversary of Carl Nielsen, including performances by The St. Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra Classica of all six symphonies in the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, a Danish Day at the Imperial Gardens Festival 2016, the opening of the exhibition A Modern Royal Household at the Anichkov Palace, the chamber trio Trio Vitruvi playing concerts in the city two years in a row as well as at the Sollertinsky International Music Festival in Vitebsk, Belarus, the release of the Danish-Russian anthology Freedom and Fate, containing short stories by ten Danish and ten Russian writers, dramatic readings of Danish plays at the Alexandrinsky New Stage, theatre performances at Raduga Festival and Skorohod, and an exhibition of tapestries made by 23 Danish weavers at the Hermitage Museum.
